Toquerville Falls and Sand Mountain
The Sand Hollow trip was a huge success. Many thanks to Mariah for organizing the event. Over the course of the week, five rigs converged in Hurricane, UT for a fun couple of days.
Mariah and Kevin arrived in Hurricane first. They had the opportunity to run Milts Mile Lite and then catch some of the action at Matt’s Offroad Games.
The next day, Cole, Mary and I arrived. We all visited with local, Dave Adams, for a tour of his Jeep grill collection and got some tips on places to go.
The following day, we went to Toquerville Falls and the radio towers. It was an easy trail and offered some great views of the surrounding area. We then hiked along the Virgin River to stretch the legs.
The last day, Gary and Lori joined us. We headed to the Sand Mountain Open OHV Area to tackle the moderately difficult West Rim Trail. We made it through with no problems and, along the way, had the opportunity to help out a fellow Jeeper whose rear tire slipped off the edge of the road. Great teamwork! We ended the day playing in the sand dunes.
We all realized there was muchh more to do there than what we had time for. I’m guessing there will be a return trip at some point in the future.
I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
